On September 16 and 17, 2026, Central Florida HIDTA will host Cryptocurrency Operations and Tactics, a 16-hour in-person course presented by Professional Law Enforcement Training (PLET). The course is designed to prepare law enforcement personnel to conduct covert operations involving cryptocurrency.
Participants will receive instruction on properly establishing cryptocurrency wallets for covert operations, backstopping wallet addresses, and setting up covert exchange accounts for investigations that require cryptocurrency-to-fiat or fiat-to-cryptocurrency conversions.
Topics include blockchain and cryptocurrency fundamentals, crypto/fiat conversions, cryptocurrency money laundering patterns, covert wallet hops, covert cryptocurrency transactions, reversal cryptocurrency operations, target-address monitoring, seizing cryptocurrency in the field, and tracking target transactions.
